Extra Large Two Step Bird punch

I hope you've all had a good week! I had my son and grand daughter visiting from Montreal so I didn't get much chance to make anything, though my granddaughter would have loved to.....we just didn't seem to be able to fit it in.

This card was the result of the struggle I've had with the new border/corner punches. I worked for hours trying to get these to work together, I love this edge though so I guess it was worth the effort. I used Whisper White card stock and the DSP from the Welcome Neighbour paper pack in the SAB catalogue.....I love this paper! The sentiment was from the Well Scripted set in the new mini catalogue stamped in Old Olive.

Thanks for looking....have a great weekend!

Heart of Hearts, A card from an error.....BONUS!

This is a card that I created from a missed roll with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel when I was trying to wheel the background for the card in my last post. I used the blender pens and Ruby Red and Old Olive classic inks to color the parts of the image that were salvageable.

I then used the full heart punch and punched out three hearts, layered them onto the black Scalloped Heart of Hearts cut with the Big Shot and the new embosslet from the new Occaisions Mini catalogue. These were strategically placed onto some Ruby Red cardstock. This was placed on a strip of Whisper White that has been punched with the Pinking hearts border punchon both the upper and lower rdges. Then it was all placed onto a basic black card base. The sentiments are from the With all My Heart stamp set that is also available in the new mini catalogue. It was a nice mistake and a very striking card.

Have a great weekend!

Vintage Vogue

This card was made for a color swap;black and white. I used the new Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and the Vintage Vogue stamp set, both are found in the Occaisions Mini catalogue. The whell was inked in Basic Black and then rolled horizontally across the Whisper White, it was then layered onto a Basic Black card base, I then took a strip of black CS and used the scalloped border punch along the edge and placed it midway on the card front. I stamped the Friends image from Vintage Vogue, rounded the corners and layered it onto a rounded piece of black; this was all popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with the shimmer paint which pulls in the half pearls that fit nicely in the scallops. These were from my stask and are non SU but I think the half pearls from the Pretties kit would work as well.

Hope you have a nice weekend,

Iris Folded Valentines

These are a couple of cards I did for a swap, the theme was Iris or Teabag folding. For these I used the new paper pack from the SAB Welcome Neighbor, the flourish from the Messages for Mom set in the new Occaisions mini catalogue. This was used to create a background paper by stamping it randomly on Melon Mambo and Whisper White cardstock. A little Melon Mambo grosgrain ribbon finishes it off. The "Bling" in the middle is just a bit of my stash that I picked up ages ago and I'm not even sure where it came from. The heart shape was punched out using the Full Heart punch. The sentiment is also from Messages for Mom.

Have a great weekend,

White, Blue and Silver Hearts

One of the groups I belong to has a monthly swap and these are the cards I made for the Blue White and Silver swap. I got to play with my new toys....I love pretty much everything in the new Mini catalogue.
Both cards have the same elements, Night of Navy and Whisper White card stock, Night of Navy Classic ink and the Silver Shimmer paint. The Small Heart, Large Full Heart, Heart to Heart punches and a border punch. The stamp sets were I{Heart} Hearts and Vintage Vogue.

I created a background with Night of Navy and the floral flourish from Vintage Vogue by randomly stamping all over the Whisper white CS, next I stamped the friend heart onto the center of the background. I used the silver shimmer and applied it with a sponge dauber to the patterned heart in the heart set and stamped them onto the Night of Navy CS then punched them out with the Full Heart punch. I used the sponge dauber to color a small piece of Night of Navy CS and then punched out with the small heart punch, the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch was layered on top.
I placed the punched hearts as you can see in the picture and trimmed the excess off, popping up the small hearts with dimensionals. Punched a border along the bottom of the Navy layer and used the sponge dauber again to sponge Silver shimmer paint on the punched border. A Whisper White satin ribbon finishes it off.

The border of this first card was stamped onto the Navy CS using the border from Eggcoutrements stamp set which was then punched out with the Scalloped border punch, it fits very well.

For the second card I used the ticket corner punch and the new Scallop Trim punch, it is otherwise the same
Thanks for looking, have a great weekend!

New Punches......new ideas? Very Versatile!

While I was away on the weekend ........playing with my new toys.....I realized how versatile the new corner punches actually are....
Below you see two borders created from only the Scallop Trim and Pinking Hearts corner punches. I did this by pushing the paper to the back of the punch and punching. Turn the punch over and continue using the pattern on the bottom of the punch.

Next : for the Scallop Trim punch I moved the paper along the back of the punch until I could see just the tip of the last triangular cut out and then trying to keep the paper straight I punched again and continued until I got to the end.

: for the Pinking Hearts punch I moved the paper along and aligned the last two hearts and pinked points of the first punch with the same that were on the punch itself then punched. Continue along to create your border.

A closer view of the two borders.

This is a card I made from the Welcome Neighbour DSP paper pack in the SAB catalogue, the Extra large two step bird punch, new Small Heart punch, the smallest heart from the heart to heart punch and a border from the Pinking Heart Corner Punch.

This card again uses the paper from the Welcome Neighbour DSP pack, the extra large two step bird punch, the small heart punch, the wing and the small hearts were punched from a wheeled image with very vintage wheel that wasn't good enough to use for a card so I recycled it and used it here.
I appologise that I don't always explain things very clearly but I'm sure if you play with them you will see what I'm talking about.
I haven't seen anyone else doing anything like this so hopefully someone will try it and be able to explain it better than I have.
I love love love how versatile these punches are. You just need to play with them and you'll be amazed!
Thanks for looking!

Wonderful Weekend!

Well, the weekend was wonderful and fun! Not much sleep though I think I got more than most. The weekend was a crop hosted by my upline, Evelyn Wood. I don't do much/any scrapbooking and that is what everyone was doing there. I had no idea as I had never been to a crop before. Ha! Ha!
I took some tools, two stamp sets ( Vintage Vogue and With All My Heart) and some white, black and Bermuda Bay cards stock with me, as well as the new SAB paper pack Welcome Neighbour. All my stuff fit into the Big Shot Doctor's bag; most of the others looked like they had moved everything they owned into the hall where we were staying. There were 20 of us so there were lots of paper and tools everywhere.
There were a two Make and Takes which I did and an amazing goody bag; I knew ahead of time there would be a card swap so I figured I would work on those there as well.
This is one of the cards I came up with with limited the supplies I had.
It was really fun and challenging at the same time.

This card is using the new SAB paper pad( three different designs), the Butterfly Wings Emboslit, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White card stock, the large oval and the scalloped oval punch, the sentiment comes from the Vintage Vogue Set in the new Occaisions Mini Catalogue.

I will show you more as the days go on over the next little while so stay tuned.
