More Challenge projects.....

I continued to play all day; while doing my laundry. I was able to complete 6 of the 8 challenges that Christina issued during the day. The first 2 being featured in the previous post.

Challenge#3 was to make a Christmas card and #5 was to make a gift card or a gift tag. These are my submissions for these two challenges:
This card uses Always Artichoke Cardstock for the card base The DSP is Desk the Halls from the new Holiday Mini. The image is from Bells and Boughs also found in the mini. I stamped it on Crumb Cake then colored it with my Stampin'write markers and highlighted the holly berries with Illuminate Smooch Top Coat
The sentiment, also from Bells and Boughs was stamped in Early Esspresso on Crumb Cake Punched out with Scalloped Oval, then a Cherry Cobbler Wide Oval and the new Decorative label in Always Artichoke. Finally some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to anchor everything.

When Challenge 5 was to make a gift tag or gift card. I couldn't resist using my Big Shot and my two tags die to make this gift card insert. I used the same DSP as is on the front of the card and two real red glimmer brads to pick up the red in the paper. The sentiment is from the set Just Believe
Well I figured that was cheating so I made this cute little tag to match It is actually Cherry Cobbler for the base but the camera really made it look like a purple. Again I used Deck the Halls DSP and a Real Red Glimmer Brad. The sentiment comes again from Just Believe and I used a stamped off image of the holly from the Bells and Boughs set. The ribbon is the 1/8th inch Very Vanilla ribbon that has been colored with my Always Artichoke marker
The inside is from the Tags 'til Christmas set from the Holiday mini inked in Always Artichoke and then I went in with my Early Esspresso marker and colored the pine cone; I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch it out and adhered to the inside of the tag.
Very Simple
Challenge #6 was to make a card with a fall image or stamp on it. Fall to me; living in the north east; means falling leaves and Thanksgiving. In Canada we celebrate our Thanksgiving in October. I went directly for my Autumn Splendor set. I used sponge daubers to add the colors ( Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Sift Suede and Old Olive) directly to the stamp randomly. The center leaf was stamped first and then I masked it and stamped the others in the same manner. This is a one layer card with the exception of the sentiment. I used a mask of the Pinking Heart border punch and sponged Cajun Craze Ink onto the top and the bottom of the card. The sentiment comes from A Day of Gratitude, stamped in Cajun Craze and punched out with the wide oval punch then placed on a Cajun Craze Decorative Label punch which was all popped up on dimensionals. The acorns were stamped off after being colored with More Mustard and Soft Suede markers.
It's really pretty in real life though as an after though I would have left off the acorns.

Challenge #7 was to make a birthday card but we were not allowed to use the Happy Birthday sentiment. I Love the Wordplay set so that is where I went. I stamped Wish Big in Real red on Very Vanilla then placed it on a circle made from 2 Round Tab punches in Old Olive that were cris-crossed, this was all placed on the 2 3/8th inch scalloped circle punch in Tempting Turquoise. The card base is Tempting Turquoise with some DSP from Play Date set, Old Olive satin ribbon and a punched scalloped border of Real Red created from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch.I finished it off with Rhinestones that dot the "I" in wish and at the bottom of the card. (opps! I see they are not straight, ugh! Those suckers stick so well I can't even fix it with out tearing the paper)

Well I think this is a lot of  playing for one day, I hope you enjoyed my creations.

Thank you for visiting.
