This card was really fun to create and is a direct/complete case from Heather Summers a fellow demo. I made two of them for my grand daughter and our nephew. They were more interested in the pennies that create the mechanisms than the actual card but it is really fun to play with.

It moves all over the place and is very wobbly!

Gift Card Holders

I made several gift card holders. This one is using Cherry Cobbler (119685) and Lucky Limeade (122926) cardstocks, the Letters to Santa DSP (122349), Scallop Oval (119859) and Large Oval (119855) , Large (11987) and Extra Large(119866) Tag and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275) punches. The stamp is from Dear Santa (123832/123834) set in the Holiday Mini. I used Lucky Limeade (119801) and Cherry Cobbler (119681) Stampin'Write markers to ink the stamp.

The tag was tied onto the package with some Linen Thread(10199)

Here, I used Real Red (102482) cardstock as a base and the Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP (124004)
I punched a ribbon with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275) and added a Real Red 5/8 " Satin ribbon (117286) bow.

The tag is actually from the Two Tags Bigz Die (115954) with some Real Red (102482) cardstock I used Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP (124004) and punched a Scallop Circle (119854). A Very Vanilla (101650) layer was created with the 3/16" Corner Rounder (119871) punch

I attached a gift card/ticket holder to the front of this package; it was created by folding a piece of Real Red (102482) cardstock with 3 scores, creating a flap at the top. I used the Letters to Santa DSP (122349) to decorate the base and to create the Rosette. I used my Simply Scored scoring tool (122334) to score two 12 x 2 inch strips of Cherry Cobbler and two 12 x1 3/4" strips DSP every 1/8th inch. I used a 2 3/8" scallop Circle punch(118874) to glue the center down and put some of the Dazzling Details (124117) all over this scallop circle. I topped this with a Doily Triple Layer punch (122465) from Silver (120005) glimmer paper and a Whisper White Snowflake punch (119852) and a Silver Brad (104336). I used the other Real Red (102482) tag from the Two Tags Bigz Die (115954) and attached some Doily Triple Layer (122465) punches in both Red (121790) and Silver (120005) glimmer papers with a Silver Glimmer Brad from the Basics collection(121003).
This one was so pretty when I got done with it!

One word of caution though....... you have to remember to indicate somewhere or somehow that the recipient needs to open the giftcard/ticket holder on the package. It was almost 3 days later that my Aunt realized that there was something in the embellishment on the front of the package.

I think I am at the end of my gift wrapping etc from Christmas. I hope you haven't been too bored with them. I had fun with it all and did not buy one bit of wrapping paper this year.

Large Rosettes!

I had these star shaped metal items to wrap so I taped the star legs to a piece of the heavy cardboard that comes in the specialty DSP packs and then I wrapped them in the packing paper from my SU orders. to decorate I used some more packing paper to run throught the Big Shot (113439) with the new Rosette Die (125594) and I then cut it down the center to create these cute rosettes. This first one uses DSP from Letters to Santa (122349)as the back ground and also Holly Berry Bouquet (124004) to fit on top of the packing paper rosette. I used the Doily Triple (122465)punch to decorate the top with Real Red (102482)card stock and some Silver Glimmer paper (124005) as well a Red Glimmer Brad from the Brights Collection (121006). I used a piece of Linen Thread (104199) to hang it from a Cherry Cobbler (125056) Stripped Grosgrain ribbon bow.

The next was done exactly the same except I used Frostwood Lodge DSP (124002) and Garden Green (102584) cardstock

I really liked them once I got them done. The new Rosette Die is awesome as it cuts and creases the paper. It is very large though and there is a bit of a learning curve to using it. I guess I will have to practice some more!! Oh well!!

Extra Large!!

I used Letters to Santa DSP (122349) to make this extra large package decoration for this packing paper wrapped parcel. Before wrapping the parcel though I stamped it with Jumbo wheels. The first one being Jolly Jingles (120864) in Garden Green (102272) Ink and the other is Sassy Sparkles (116541) in Soft Suede (115657) ink. I punched a strip of Garden Green(102584) card stock with the Lace Ribbon Border punch(122362) and placed it at the top to hang the decoration from. A strip of Crumb Cake(120953) cardstock cut into a banner shape creates the tag. The DSP was cut into 2 inch squares (12); they were each rolled into a cone shape and attached with Tombo Multi Liquid Glue (110755)to a scallop circle punch (119854) both front and back in Garden Green (102584) cardstock. I punched out a Doily from the Doily Triple Layer Punch(122465) in Red Glimmer (121790) paper and attached it with a Silver Glimmer brad from the Basics Collection(121003). I punched a 1/8" hole in one of the cones with my Crop-a-dile (108362) and attached a small piece of red metallic elastic cording from my stash. This measured about 4 -4.5 inches across so it was a quite large.

Wrapped Chocolate!

I put these wrapped bars in my Mum's and Mother-in-law's stocking bags. They were simple; using DSP from the Holiday Mini catalogue, Holly Berry Bouquet(124004). I wrapped it around the bar then secured it with Sticky Strip (104294) on both ends and along the seam at the back. I ran the ends a half a crank through the crimper (101618)to secure them and give them a finished look.

Next I created a Lolly or Rosette with a 1 inch strip of Very Vanilla (101650)cardstock that was punched along one edge with the Eyelet Border (119853) punch. It was topped with a stamped image from the Delightful Decorations (116517) set stamped in Cherry Cobbler (119669) ink. This was then punched out with the Ornament punch (119847). I added a few Basic Pearl (119247) and a small piece of Quilted Cherry Cobbler Ribbon (124105), from the Holiday mini, that was tied in a knot to finish the job!
A really quick and easy project!

One more bag!

I made this gift bag front after seeing this card done by a fellow demo, Jackie Topa. I took a generic kraft gift bag and attached the embellishments to it. The fire place was created using Cherry Cobbler card stock (119685)that I cut into 3/4" strips and then cut these at about 1"-1.5" long and I rounded the corners using the 3/16" Corner Rounder( 119871)and sponged the edges with Early Espresso Ink(119670). I glued these to a piece of Early Espresso card stock (119686) to resemble a fireplace, The mantle is a strip of Sahara Sand card stock(121043) sponged with Crumb Cake ink(121030). This was popped off the fireplace with Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). The Stockings were created with the Stocking Builder punch(124095) and scraps of DSP and card stock from several different paper packs. Letter To Santa( 122349), Frostwood Lodge(124002) and Holly Berry Bouquet(124004). They were attached to the mantle using some Cherry Cobbler(123125) and Early Espresso(123124) Bakers Twine and some silver brads(104336). The fire was created using So Saffron card stock(105118) punched from the Two Step Bird punch (117191), wing, these have been sponged with Tangerine Tango(111834) and Pumpkin Pie(105216) inks. The logs are Soft Suede card stock (115318) punched with the Word Window punch (119857). I used the new Framelit dies ( 125598)from the new Occasions Mini to create the framed wreath over the mantle in Very Vanilla (101650) and Early Espresso (11986) card stock. The Wild Wasabi (109014) wreath comes from the Bright Hopes(122690/122692) stamp set in the Holiday Mini. I punched out several 1/8" holes around the wreath using the Crop-A-Dile (108362) and place a piece of Red Glimmer paper(121790) behind it to give it some bling. A Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon(124105) bow completes the vignette. The banner is stamped from the Pines and Poinsettias stamp set(123762/123764) in Cherry Cobbler ink (11969).

I enjoyed doing this even though it was very time consuming.

I still have a few items from Christmas wrapping to show you so keep checking back. I promise to get to the end of it soon.

Re-purposed bag......

In keeping with my going green theme this year I re-purposed this bag as a gift bag. I often buy my bananas in these bags as neither my husband nor I like green bananas. I keep them and found that a piece of pretty DSP makes a good cover up for them.

I used a piece of the Letters for Santa DSP from the retired Holiday mini and glued it to the front covering the pre-printed bag. Quick and easy!

Our children are grown and no longer at home and so stockings are not hung any longer at our house. I used kraft paper bags and put stockings on them, created using the stocking die, to hold a few little sweets and fun things for them. I used card stock and embossing folders for them as well as some Frostwood Lodge DSP from the Holiday mini. They were fun to have under the tree.

Pretty Winter Bag!

The front of this generic white paper bag is decorated with several items from the IBC. Whisper White cardstock (100730) was embossed on opposite corners with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing folder (120902) Next I cut some snowflakes with the Northern Frost Sizzlit Decorative Strip(120901) in Basic Black (121045) and Brushed Silver (100712) cardstocks.

These were attached with Tombo Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755) Some were layered and some left single on the embossed snowflakes. The centers were then embellished with either some Basis Rhinestones (110246) or Gold Glimmer Brads from the Basics collection (121003)This was glued to a Basic Black layer

and then glued to the bag. To finish I made a faux double loop bow from some Basic Black 1/2" Scallop Dots ribbon (124145) and a Basic Black Glimmer Brad also from the Basics Collection and attached it using Mini Glue Dots (103683). Now, you have a very classy bag for gift giving all winter long.

It is really very pretty close up.

Wrapped in 5 mins!

This is a super simple idea! I took an empty pizza box and put a Wild Wasabi(108641) Snowflake #2 die(113460) cut on it. I had a left over tag from the Beautiful Season set so I put that in the center of the snowflake and anchored it wit a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4 inch striped gros grain ribbon(125055) tied in a simple knot.
Voila! instantly wrapped.

All these items were leftovers and I put them together to make this project. Simple but effective.

More Stamped paper

I did two versions of this package but for some reason I only took pictures of this one.
The packing paper was stamped with the Serene Snowflakes Set (115438). I used several shades of greens; Pear Pizzazz (119784) Wild Wasabi (109014) and Garden Green (102272) and Whisper White ink (101731) each stamp was stamped randomly over the paper.

The ornament is the same as the one from my ornament class

The snowman covered chocolate is a direct case from Heather Summers , she created the template in MDS. I printed out her template and wrapped it around a Hershey chocolate bar.

I used some left over Holly Berry Bouquet fabric (124065) to create the hat and scarf, I threaded two Mini Jingle Bells (124116); both from the Holiday mini; onto some Whisper White Bakers Twine (124262) to finish.

The blue version used Baha Breeze (111833), Marina Mist (119668) and Not Quite Navy ( 103008)

These were fun to do even though it was ripped apart to get to the gift inside.

Stamped Wrapping paper

Here is more packing paper that I ironed and then stamped randomly with the Wreath and the Joy stamps from the Welcome Christmas set (120597) in Wild Wassabi (109014) and Poppy Parade (119782) inks. I, then, tied some Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly ribbon (119263)around it and attached a Star ornament from a retired paper stack. This idea was cased from a fellow demo so I can't take full credit for it. The package was very pretty!

Front Door?

My mother usually spends Christmas with my sister in London, Ont. but this year she stayed home. My sister sent a parcel for her in the mail to my address and I wrapped it for her.
I decided that most of my parcels would be wrapped with the packing paper that comes in my Stampin'Up! boxes, there seems to be a ton of it!

I wrapped this box with the packing paper and sponged (101610) the edges with some soft suede ink (115663). Next I folded 4 rectangles from the same paper and created the panels for the door. I used the Woodgrain background stamp (117100)
to stamp the panels, these were sponged as well.
I used some soft suede card stock (115318) and the 1 3/8" circle punch (119860) as well as some brushed silver card stock (100712) and the 1 1/4" circle punch layered together to make the door knob.
The wreath was created with the snowflake punch (119852) and Garden Green cardstock (102584) the Berries were punched from Red Glimmer Paper (121790) and the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309). the tag was punched using the Large Tag (119876) and the Extra Large punch (119866) with some Crumb Cake card stock (120953) and the Soft Suede, this was stamped in Real Red Ink (103133) using the greeting from the Holiday Happiness stamp set (120792) and the holly from the Pines and Poinsettias set (123764) inked with the
Real Red (100052) and Garden Green (100080) Stampin'Write Markers, tied on with some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (123125) then a small circle fire rhinestone brad (109110) to dress it up. This is tied onto a bow tied from Real Red 1 1/4" stripped grosgrain ribbon (retired)
This was a fun project and was well received.

Soda Can Ornaments

For these really cute ornaments I took 2 empty aluminum soda cans and cut the ends off of them then down the side to make it flat. I ran these through my Big Shot (113439) with the Snowflake #2 (113460) original die. I ran one side through with the printed side up and the other with the printed side down. The die rounds the edges slightly so they are not sharp as you would expect them to be.

This one is from a Diet 7 Up cans, I layered a print side onto a plain aluminum side and stuck them together with a mini glue dot (103683), in the center. On the top in the center I placed a large Basic Jewel Rhinestones (119246).

From 2 Dr Pepper cans......because these are all layered with the 2 different sides they are basically the same on both sides.

From 2 store brand Soda Water cans

From 2 Pepsi Cans...... I used Whisper White Bakers Twine (124262) to create hangers for the tree.
They were big hits with everyone as I attached them to cards and packages at Christmas.

They are easy to make if you have the die and take very little time.

Whew! It has been a busy few weeks, I know no one else is feeling it like me :-)

Christmas Triple Flip Album

I created this album, using Andrea Walford's Triple Flip album template, with the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit in the Holiday Mini catalogue. I love this format because you can create many of these for any occasion and they can be stored on a book shelf just like books.

I will be offering this as a class in January. The albums hold 14-16 4x4 pictures. There is little to no stamping as there are so many great pieces in the kit but it can be added to or simplified as you please.

Calendars #4

I tried my hand at designing......I made a drawer for a post-it note pad with a decorative easel on top; it had a few designer flaws but all in all it worked. LOL

I wanted to create something with a calendar and a note pad so I created a box bottom that fit the standard 3x3 post-it note pads and wrapped it with a strip of card stock and coordinating DSP; creating a drawer. We put a brad in the front of the drawer to make a drawer pull or knob.

I next used a strip of cardstock that was twice as long as the depth of the box and scored it in the center and again in the center of one of the halves again to create the easel. This was glued to the inside of the top of the sleeve that holds the drawer.

A calendar was attached to the top of the sleeve, close to the front to create the stop for the easel.

Supplies used for this were:

Stamp set: You Are Loved ( Holiday Mini 2011)

Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, Timeless Portrait DSP

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point

Accessories: Decorative Label punch, Basic Pearls, Post-it note pad, Simply Score-it, Neutrals Brads

I like how it turned out and maybe the addition of a small pen would make this complete. It makes a great, useful gift!

I have one more calendar to share that completes the class so check back in a day or so for info about it.

Bookmark calendar.....

with this book mark you will always have a calendar close by. I printed the calendar from Sudsol, an online demo group I belong to, and trimmed them up to 1/4 inch shy of the measurements to fit in the vinyl bookmark holders.

I used the Field Flowers set to stamp a second generation image, stamp off once, in Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz inks. This was then glued onto a piece of match/coordinating card stock and slipped into book the vinyl sleeve, a coordinating tassel was added to the top and Voila! a quick and useful gift.

Calendar #2

A simple coaster calendar! We used DSP of the student's choice from the DSP stacks( the sample was created with a retired paper) The DSP was glued onto the 4"x4" coaster with the SU glue sticks the edges were then sanded to take down the edges; then they were sponged with ink to match the paper. The calendar was glued to a piece of c ardstock that coordinated with the DSP and the bottom edge was punched with the Pinking Hearts border punch. A carnation was created from 3 scallop circle punches that were distressed until the layers separated, they were then layered with a brad in the center. The sentiment on the calendar is from Fabulous Florets. A magnet was glued to the back of the coaster and Voila! a great gift or calendar for your fridge.

Calendar Class

These are the projects we created in the calendar class I had last week. It was a fun class. We made 5 projects in 3 hours.

The first project is a purse calendar/agenda. I used the Pool Party cardstock and DSP from the In-Color paperstack. We ran the card stock through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Prints set this was punched with the large oval and placed on a decorative label punch. Matching ribbon hides the seam of the two papers and it is decorated with a strip of pearls from the basic pearls. Tiny butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit decorate the DSP. Very simple but pretty too.

Inch box Advent Calendars

This cute little calendar was designed by Brenda Quintana and it really struck my fancy. It is created using DSP from the Letters to Santa pkg and the 25 and Counting stamp set that is in the current Mini. Accessories are silver brads, Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon and the 1" Square, Decorative label and the petal Card punches. Th box measures approx 5 5/8" square and the entire project is about 11 inches tall.

Here is a side view of the box with one of the "drawers" opened. The drawers will hold small treats such as 1-2 Hershey's Kisses, candy. I have created 2 of this style for our grand daughter and nephew. In each drawer is a small candy and a joke for each day leading up to Christmas.

A close up of the front shows the ink colors used; Pool Parth, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Early Espresso.

I created a grown up version of the box for my mother and mother-in-law using the Christmas Lodge stamp set. The images are stamped in Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler and are embellished with the Dazzling Details to give some bling and sparkle to the snow.

Fancy Folds Class #5

The last project for the fancy folds class was a gift card holder from a standard envelope. We used a Crumb Cake envelope, Crumb Cake and Garden Green cardstock, DSP from the Frostwood Lodge pack. Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Curly Label punch layered onto the Curly label die from the Movers and Shapers die, Felt mitts from the Winter Wishes stitched felts. The stamped label is from the Beautiful Season Set. The inside is decorated with a punched Stocking using the Stocking Builder punch from Garden Green cardstock and decorated with Frostwood Lodge DSP

Nothing really fancy but also well received by everyone.

Fancy Folds Class #4

Cased directly from Sandi McIver's Countdown to Christmas. A diamond fold card. I used the same stamp set and base color but changed up the DSP then made a version from Perfect Plum as well.

Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Brushed Silver, Whisper White, Marina Mist DSP from Subtles Stack

Ink: Versamark, Marina Mist

Accessories: Whisper White 3/8 " Taffeta Ribbon, Northern Frost Decorative Strip, Big Shot, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Scallop Squares Duo die, Scallop edge border punch, 1 1/4" circle punch

The colors for this version are Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant. The DSP is from the Subtles Stack as well.

These cards were very well received even though I was confused at first with the folds :-).

Fancy Folds Class #3

This beauti is a double side step card that, once I finished it, I realized, it was too big to fit into a standard 5 1/2" square envelope; so I had to create one from a larger envelope.
Note to self: "pay attention to sizes!!" The card was inspired by a card I had saved to my computer but I have no idea who created it.
I changed it up a bit and this is the result. I love it and so did the class. The chickadee is our provincial bird and we have them coming to our feeders daily. So much fun to watch!

Card base is Soft Suede with Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White, DSP from Frostwood Lodge pack.

Stamp Sets: Beautiful Season and Christmas Lodge

Ink; Black StazOn, Basic Gray, River Rock, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler

Fancy Folds Class #2

This really cute card was inspired by a gift card holder that was designed for a 12 weeks of Christmas Countdown of a fellow Demo Teri Walker. Rather than a gift card holder we made it into an Easel Card.
It uses:
Paper: Garden Green and Very Vanilla Cardstock, also DSP from the Letters to Santa pack.

Ink: Black StazOn, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green

Stamp Sets: Welcome Christmas and Lovely as a Tree

Fancy Folds Class #1

I recently held a Fancy Folds class where we created 4 cards and a Gift Card Holder.
It was a fun and interesting class. I will detail the cards we created over the next few posts.

The first card is an Origami Diamond Fold card found here. We used DSP from the stacks I used the Red Glimmer paper and Whisper White to decorate the tabs

Organza Whisper White ribbon was tied around the flap and Snowflakes from the Northern Frost strip and Rhinestones are on the mid fold while a Real Red button and 1/8th Taffeta Ribbon on the front.

Inside we stamped snowflakes from the Serene Snowflakes and the sentiment is from the Christmas Greetings set.

It is a card and envelope in one and very fun to do. We used the Simply Scored tool as well.

Jeffrey's Birthday Card

I created this card using the tutorial over at Paper Punch Addiction. He was just too cute and worked really well for a 7 year old boy. I changed up the paper to use Lucky Limeade and Garden Green. The DSP in the background is from the Just Add Cake collection.
I didn't have the stamp set Kim used for the eyes so I improvised with circle punches.
Really cute and simple with the correct punches.

Mia's Birthday Card

I saw this card ages ago and saved the picture to my computer because I knew I had to make it for my grand daughter, Mia for her birthday this year; she turned 7 on November 2nd. I neglected to make note of the original creator as this is a total case of that one. If you are the original creator or know who it is please let me know so I can give proper credit to them.

This is a side step card on a base of Early Espresso

The side step is a retired wheel stamp stamped in Early Espresso on Pretty in Pink cardstock. The main focal image is Whisper White layered on a Pretty in Pink, the white layer has been run Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing Folder. The tumbling Cupcakes are stamped and punched from the Create a cup cake set and matching punch. The "frosting" was run through the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines embossing folder. I punched the cherries from the Red Glimmer paper

The sentiment on the front is from the set A Word for You and on the inside is from the set Bring on the Cake

It was a really fun card.

Christmas Ornaments Class 7

The final project for this class.... the picture does not show off the true glitz of this one, it is so pretty using the Red and Silver glimmer paper.
Using the Big Shot and the Snowflake #2 die I cut one snowflake from the Silver Glimmer paper. I used the 1 3/4" circle punch in the Red Glimmer paper and then the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch to create a frame for the round treat cup this was glued in place with a few dabs of Tombo Mono Multi glue. We stamped the snowman image from the Snow Much Fun set onto a Whisper White 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch and colored it with Stampin'Write Markers. Mica Flakes were put in the treat cup then the adhesive was exposed and the white scallop circle with the snowman image was placed on top to create a "faux" snowglobe. The whole thing was then glued to the silver snowflake and then a Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine hanger was attached to the top.

Everyone took home 7 tree ornaments that were created in about 3 hours. We had a lot of fun doing these.

Christmas Ornaments Class 6

So simple but very elegant too! The Big Shot and the BigZ Lattice die was used here. I made 6 die cuts from Whisper White card stock and folded them each diagonally. I opened each diecut and applied small dots of Dazzling Details to several sopts on each. When they were dry I refolded each diecut. Next I used the Tombo Mono Multi glue to glue them together putting very small amounts in strategic places to hold them together, stacking each one on top of the last until all were glued, finish the ornament by gluing the first to the last.

Creating a 3D lacey ornament. Using the white baker's twine I made a hanger and used a Mini Glue dot to glue a Real Red satin bow to the top.

This was a version I didn't really like, I ran the hanger down the center and used the pieces from the diecut to make a hangy-thingy at the bottom. I also used the Basic Jewels Rhinestones to decorate and the Whisper White Organza Ribbon on top.

Christmas Ornaments Class 5

These were not my favorite ones to do though they are not difficult to make. I found the tutorial for them here. I found the "retired" Pretties kit as used in the tutorial was hit or miss for staying together the ends would pop off and beads and paper would fly everywhere. So in keeping with accessibility I decided to use a 2 G wire that I had on hand but can be picked up where ever beading supplies can be found, I did use the beads from the pretties kit.
The paper used for these two ornaments was the Holly
Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP cut as per the tutorial. and coordinating ribbons used for hangers and decorations.

Christmas Ornaments Class 4

I came across these ornaments on an old blog post somewhere, the DSP that was used was striped and the scalloped squares were not Stampin'Up!. I thought they would be fun to use the Mocha Morning DSP for them. For these I used the Scallop Squares duo BigZ Die. I used the large square from this die and

the beautiful Flocked paper in this DSP pack. We turned the squares (6)on the diagonal and scored across at the same scallop on each side. Then folded on the score lines and glued the folded ends together to create an abstract, type, cube. They were finished of by using the crop-a-dile and punching a hole in one of the points. We made a "faux bow" with the 5/8" Basic Black Satin ribbon and an Antique Brad. Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta ribbon was tied to the ornament and the brad legs on the bow were pushed through the hole as well and opened to hold every thing in place.

These are beautiful in real life!

Christmas Ornaments Class 3

These ornaments, as seen in the Holiday Mini pg 28,were created by cutting paper from the Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP pack into 12 1.5" squares. We then made each of these into a cone, again using the Tombo Liquid Multi glue and mini clothes pins to hold until they were dry.

They were then glued onto a Scallop Circle punched from real Red Cardstock using the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive sheets. This adhesive is wonderful as it makes punches and die cuts into a sticker.

We glued the cones on at the 12-3-6-9 places on the clock first then filled in the areas between.

Next we punched the large flower from the Boho Blossoms punch and pierced

a hole in the center in which we placed a glimmer brad that coordinated with the DSP. This was glued on top of the cones with a "generous amount" of the liquid glue to hold everything together.

For the hanger we did the "Faux bow" again using the 1/4" red gros grain ribbon.

The back is very pretty too and could be used to put the date on or "to: from:" as a package topper/gift tag.

The two in this post are from the same DSP just different sides of the paper.

I think they are a pretty alternative to Bows and Baubles.

Christmas Ornaments Class 2

These stars are the simplest things to make....once you figure out which side to cut them on. I found the tutorial here.
They use a 6x6 inch piece of DSP, we scored every inch and fan folded them. They are then folded to find the center, and stapled in the center. You cut each side from about 1"-1 1/2 " from the center out to the corner. Then glue the sides together to get the star. We used the Tombo Liquid Multi glue and the mini clothes pins to hold the paper together until they were dry.

The DSP we used was Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Paper from the Holiday Mini. Once the glue was dry we used glue dots to add Holly Berry Designer Buttons and a little Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to the center.

For the hanger we used the crop-a-dile and punched a 3/8" hole in one of the arms of the star. We used 1/8" red taffeta ribbon to make a "faux bow" and another piece of ribbon to tie it together then threaded it through the hole and to be used for a hanger. (Clear as mud?)

This is the other side of the DSP from the picture above.

I think everyone chose this side to use as it is very pretty and impressive!

Christmas Ornaments Class 1

I came across the video of this ornament and had a great time creating it so I thought it would be fun to have a class making Christmas tree ornaments from paper and SU supplies.This one can be a package topper and then hang on the tree it can then be folded up to be put away for storage, to be used again next year.

Stamp Sets: Serene Snowflakes, Holiday Happiness

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, 1/2" circle punch, 1/8" Red Taffeta ribbon, Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

I loved this but it was time consuming and I wanted to make several different ornaments in the class so....... I decided to try using DSP rather than stamping so much.

This one was made using the Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, Basic Black card stock and 1/8th " Black taffeta ribbon, the stamp sets for the front and back are Serene Snowflakes and Bells and Boughs, Versamark Ink and white embossing powder

This one uses the same supplies but the paper is folded the opposite way/

The plaid one here is using the Frostwood Lodge DSP and Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and Ribbon

The Green and Pink paper is from Letters to Santa DSP and I used Lucky Limeade Cardstock and Ribbon

This is the same DSP folded the other way. These took only a few minutes to create and they were one of 7 ornaments that we created in the ornament class.

Strength and Hope Finale

Anniversary Card

Joyce Wieler created this card originally and I had to case it as well. It used the brayered on embossing folder technique to color the background. Crumb Cake Ink was brayered onto the flat side of the embossing folder and the paper was placed on it and then run through the Big Shot. First time with this and it's not so bad....

Strength and Hope for Prostate Cancer

While doing research for my classes I found that each type of cancer has its own ribbon color. We see so much about Breast Cancer and the pink campaigns that the others seem to get left behind. This makes the set even more versatile as no matter what type of cancer someone has they need strength and hope to get through the process.
For this card I used Bashful Blue as light blue is the color for Prostate Cancer and it seems to be as prevalent among men of all ages as Breast Cancer seems to be for women.

Paper: Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue

Strength and Hope

I created and cased these projects for a class that didn't happen but I love this set and the projects as well. Over the next week or so I will elaborate on each card or project. They all show case the Strength and Hope set that was available in the Summer mini catalogue and was a fund raiser fro Breast Cancer research, as Stampin'Up! donated $2 for each set sold. I wanted to show that even though Breast cancer was the focus of this set.... it can be used for any type of cancer as it is still appropriate if the colors associated with each type of cancer is used. It is also an all occasions set if you want to use it for that as well.

This first card was a case from a fellow Demo but I neglected to save the credentials as to whom it was so If you recognize it please let me know so I can give proper credit. The card I cased was done in either Bashful or Baha blue and was a birthday card. I did change the color and added the Scallop Circle embellishment to the front of the card.

Hello everyone, it has been too long since I posted but I haven't been idle. Here is one of my projects.....
They are roses created from the ornament punch that you have seen on previous posts. I wanted to see what they looked like in different colors and sponged with different inks.
I have had to move my crafting space from my basement to my dining room and have got it mostly settled. This makes the classroom/dining room pretty compact but I am looking forward to classes and sharing there.
I now have to go back to the basement to sift through all the "STUFF" that didn't make the cut and decide if I really need to keep it. I hate making these decisions but it has to be done. The plan is to eventually finish the basement again and make it my studio/classroom. It will be lovely when it is done! In a year or two :-)

Rounded Squares

That is what I did to the squares....I rounded 2 of the corners. I cased this card; big surprise!; but I'm not sure where from. I just liked the idea. It uses Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock and Beyond the Garden DSP. The punches are the corner rounder, 1 1/4" square, 1/2" circle and the Blossom Bouquet Triple punch. The embellishments are a silver brad and Daffodil Delight Taffeta ribbon(retired), Stamp set is from the Swirls & Curls Verses hostess set in the current Summer Mini catalogue.
I used my Big Shot and the Vintage Wall paper embossing folder to add texture and interest to the background.

Blossom Bouquet Card Set

This is a sweet set that was created by Ilina Crouse. She offered a Summer Splendor Class back in April and this was one of the projects.
I really like it and made 2 right away, I gave one to my sister when I was visiting for Easter.

It uses the Bold Blossoms stamp set in the Summer Mini and the new Blossom Bouquet Triple punch.

The card is an example of a "Joy fold" card and it also uses the imbedding technique.

Thank You notes.....

I finally had my first workshop and had 5 orders, YEAH!!! We had a lot of fun and so I made these cute 3x3 Thank you notes for each of the ladies who placed an order. The idea comes from a video I watched on YouTube. I loved this use for the new Pennant Punch.

Retired! 2 ways :-)

I made this card for one of my husband`s co-workers who was retiring. It is made from now retired stamps and DSP. I was pleased with the results.
I first stamped the right side of the Soft Suede Card Base with the On the Green stamp image, stamped 3 times one on top of the other, in Soft Suede ink, Next is a strip of the striped DSP from Elegant Soiree. I then had to tie in the golf theme a bit further so I ran a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock through the Big Shot inside the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder and then punched out 1/2 inch circles to represent golf balls and glued them along the right hand side of the DSP.

The image is from the retired set " And Many Mower" which I stamped in black StazOn onto Very Vanilla and using a blender pen I colored the image. I matted it onto a piece of Baha Breeze and popped it up onto Stampin'Dimensionals. The sentiment is from an old retired set called "Congrats"

The inside is Top Note die cuts in Very Vanilla and Baha Breeze. I trimed the edge from the Very Vanilla to layer it onto the blue then stamped the appropriate saying from the "Congrats" set.

I was very pleased with the card when it was finished.

It's Strawbery Season!

They are finally here....and sooo good!
We've had so much rain and cool weather that I didn't know if we were going to get many; if any; strawberries.

I saw some paper ones in the new catalogue (page 99) and then found a tutorial by Julie B. They are made using the big shot, the Flower Folds die and Real Red DSP and card stock.

The tops are the 5 petal flower punched from Old Olive and then holes punched in it with my Crop-a-dile and then some 1/4 inch Old Olive Gross Grain ribbon tied to hold them together.

They are really cute and could hold a small treat if you so desired. They don't taste as good as the real thing though.

I'm really jealous of all who are having fun at Convention right now. Oh well......next year!

Father's Day Cards by Mia

Our grandaughter, Mia, was visiting the weekend before Father's Day; the first thing she wanted to do was to craft something. We looked through my saved pictures and she chose to make a card for her Dad and her two grandfathers as well.

This first card is a straight up CASE from Nancy Riley . Mia was really taken with the owl punch, she wanted to put the googly eyes on him. We used:

Stamp Set: Best Dad Ever

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla.

Accessories: Owl Builder, 2 1/2 and 1 3/8 Circle Punches, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, #2 Circles Die.

Thi next two cards were for her Grandfathers. She used the Stampin' Write markers to color the ties on the stamp then stamped the sentiment. She chose the colors for each card and the DSP, which is from Green House Gala, now retired. The card bases are Pacific Point. She struggled with the first card to get it straight, so I explained to her that some times we make it crooked on purpose so it wasn't so difficult..........

This was the result! She laughed so hard about this one....I loved it. Great job, Mia!!

Happy Birthday Flowers

While we were on our bus tour/cruise to Bermuda my Mum celebrated her 70th birthday. She has many lung problems so she cannot have real flowers. I created these Gerbera daisies and took them with us so she could have a bit of a celebration. I used the tutorial by Shelly Bohan to create the flowers and the video by Sharon White to make the basket/vase they are in.

The colors I used are Pink Pirouette and black, Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. the stems and caylex of the flower are Old Olive.

The basket/vase is created from the petal cone die, Pacific Point, Beyond the Garden DSP, Four Frames Stamp set, Decorative label punch and the dotted scallop ribbon border punch.

The other flowers are all the same color but this one has two colors. They are very realistic in real life.

Bermuda Memory Keepers

Once again these great Memory Keepers have come in handy! I did these for a group of us who were traveling together on a bus tour/cruise to Bermuda last month.

These cards were both cased from Sage Kimble, I guess we have similar styles/likes.
I did change them up a bit.
This first one gave me the chance to play with my Fancy Flowers die from the Occasions Mini catalogue. The flowers were cut out in Very Vanilla, run through the Big Shot again with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and sponged with Crumb Cake ink. Sage's card used some of the paper flowers in the center but I chose to use a flower from the Birds and Blooms die set as it closely mimics the shape of the fancy flowers. The DSP is Springtime Vintage and I used a Vintage Flower Adornment also from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. I placed the flower on a Baha Breeze base that had been run through the Big Shot with the new Framed Tulips embossing folder.

This card is on a Blushing Bride card base that has been wheeled with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel, the Baha Breeze piece is also wheeled with the same wheel. I had been putting off playing with this stamp set, Baby Blossoms as it is two-step stamping and I'm "afraid" of it......DON'T BE!! ....it is really fun ans easy. The colors of the flowers are Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. I love this set and am really sorry I put off playing with it; it is now retired as it was featured in the Occaisions Mini as well. I used the Baha Breeze Seam Binding and a safety pin from Vintage Trinkets to pin a heart charm on it. The label is matted with Night of Navy punched from the Decorative Label punch.
After I got the whole card together I realized that the wheeled images are vertical on the card stock rather than horizontal; you have to look to see it but....how silly of me!

It is a really pretty card in real life.

Greenhouse Gala and Hello Blossoms Card Sets

I made these cute cards sets for my niece and my daughter-in-law for gifts for Easter. The card box was cased from Elaine's Creations

They hold 3 cards and envelopes and really were easy to make.

The boxes were made using Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait cardstock They were decorated with the contrasting cardstock that has been punched with the scallop trim border punch on both sides and a strip of the DSP.
I then tied a piece of the 1/2 " poly stitched ribbon to match the contrasting cardstock.

The cards were cased from a fellow demo but I can't give credit because the picture I saved didn't have a watermark to identify the creator. I did change it up a fair bit.
Supplies used are :

Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Ink: Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz Stampin'Write Markers

Mother's Day Card Class

These were the cards and projects that we made in my Mother's Day card class. They were once again all cased from fellow demos.

The first card is cased from Lisa Young. She used her card as a wedding card but I love the simplicity and the butterflies.
Supplies used are:

Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride

Inks: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz

Stamp Sets: Bliss from Sale-a-bration 2011, Well Scripted (retired), For All You Do, Messages For Mom and Easter Blossoms

Accessories: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Pearls, Wide Oval and Decorative Label Punch, Whisper White Organza Ribbon

I'm not a huge fan of cutting out things so I used the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit instead. The inside of the card is stamped as well to give it a nice finish.

The next card was inspired by a card by Juliana Bibas
I used the same layout but added the new embossing folder and the Mother of Pearl Technique.

Supplies are:

Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White

Inks: Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Black Stazon

Stamp Sets: Elements of Style, All Holidays

Accessories: Big Shot, Framed Tulips Embossing folder, Blender Pen, Scallop Trim border punch, Marina Mist Satin Ribbon, Frost White Shimmer Paint

The Mother of Pearl effect, as seen here, was accomplished by taking some plastic wrap that has been wadded up into a ball and randomly blotting the Frost White shimmer paint all over the stamped image. I then let it dry and used a blender pen and inks to color the image. The effect is amazing!

We did two small gift items as well; this teabag matchbook using matching colors to the above card and the Elements of Style set.

The new oval punch was used on top of the one inch circle punch as well as the scallop trim border punch and some 1é4 inch Whisper White gross grain ribbon.

Inside we put a small sentiment from Curvy Verses on a wide oval punch and a Teabag in the pocket.

The inspiration for this item came from Bev Watt over at Stampin' Ovation

Lastly we made a corner bookmark from the corner of an envelope. The inspiration is from Traci Gentry

I punched the edge with the Eyelet border punch to make it pretty.

I love the way these can fit inside a card.

That was the class..... the cards were really beautiful! and the class was fun!

Envelope Corner Book Marks

Just a quick post today to share.

I found these bookmarkers on this site, and I had to try them. They are very simple and your imagination is your only limit. The directions are on Traci`s blog, noted above.
I used the Elements of Style set with my Stampin`Write markers in Old Olive and Ridinghood Red. The edges were punched with our border punches and I used a scrap piece of Pacific Point card stock and Ridinghood Red ribbon (retired)

They are quick and easy for a gift that will fit right into a card.

More Easter goodies....

I am way behind in posting these. I was away to Montreal last week and then to London, ON to visit with my sister for the weekend and seem to have lost track of time. I have a few more Easter treats to show off before I move on to Mother's day etc.

These first little goodies are a direct case from Mary Fish's blog. I loved how these teeny tiny boxes can be decorated using punches and embelishments. The directions are on Mary's blog if you are interested.

These skinny bags are filled with the Easter M&M's and some Citrus Jelly Bellies. The4 central toppers are cased from France over at Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie.
Aren't they just the cutest? She used a different base but the fronts are basically the same. My base for them is a 4 3/4 by 1 1/2 inch piece of cardstock that has been scored from each end at 2 inches and then a 3/4inch circle punched in the center of the 3/4 x 1.5 center area/bottom of the cardstock.

This first cutie can be found here. France has direstions and a video so I will not bore you here with the details. I used the ribbon from sale-a-bration on her head.

I think they are so cute! The eyes are not so great but in real life they really didn't look so scarey.

The bunnies are found here. As you will notice France used pink and Brown but I was leaning more to the neutrals.

This version was just to simplify the work a bit I used the scallop circle punch in Daffodil Delight and sponged the edges a bit with some Peach Parfait, the beak is a small square of Peach Parfait and the eyes are from the owl punch then a white gel pen pupil was drawn in.

This bunny is just the head from the bunny in the previous post.

Easter Goodies

I used the following supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand

Stamp Set: Easter Blossoms

Accessories: Itty Bitty Flower, Scallop Trim border punches, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearls

This is the inside of the card using the Cherry Blossoms Stamp from the same set stamped in a tone on tone with Sahara Sand and over stamped with the Easter Wishes in Cherry Cobbler. I really like this card.

This cute little guy was, again, cased from a fellow demo. There have been several similar to this one posted but I really like the use of the Ornament punch for the bunny's face.
I used the Petal Cone Bigz die and cut it once in Pumpkin Pie card stock then ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dots embossing folder. I cut off one of the rounded flaps and glued it together to create a pocket.

The bunny is created with the ornament punch for his head and the large and small oval punches for the ears. I used circle punched for his cheeks and eyes( I don't remember the size for his cheeks, either 1" or 3/4", eyes are the eyes from the owl punch). I sponged the cheeks in Pretty in Pink ink. His nose is a petal from the 5 petal flower punch the was repunched in the 1/2 inch circle punch to get the shape I needed. His hands are one of the flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch. His whiskers are drawn on with the basic black Stampin'Write marker. I used the Scallop Oval( Old Olive) and large oval punch for the sentiment which is from the Easter Blossoms set. The carrot top is a piece of the large Scallop Circle punch that has been cut down between the scallops.

Here is a close up view of the embellishment.
I inked the image twice in Pear Pizzazz and the second one I used a blender pen to remove the pear pizzazz ink and then the Pumpkin Pie Stampin'Write marker to ink the "For You".

I made this for a thank you gift for my sister-in-law.....she had the family for dinner; she makes the best pizza ever!

I really liked this as it is both a card and a gift.
As you can see in the picture of the inside it holds a magnetic book mark and some chocolate.

Forgotten Birthday Card.

I didn't forget the birthday....this year, just to post the card that I made for our brother-in-law. His birthday is New Year's Eve so it gets missed or forgotten a lot ;-(

This year I was on the ball and didn't forget it, YEAH!!

I love the Circle Circus set, it's so versatile and can be glammed up or toned down, it can be used for any occasion.
I actually used my Color Coach for this card and created a card front using Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry, and Real Red inks and the different circles in the set.

I used a piece of Real Red that has been scalloped with the Bigz XL die, Tasteful Trim, they were mounted on a Marina Mist card base,with a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta ribbon wrapped around it.

The sentiment is from the set "On Your Birthday", stamped inside the dotted, real red, circle from the set on Whisper White, inked with Marina Mist. This is punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and mounted on a Real Red 1 3/8" circle and this was all popped up on dimensionals on to a Marina Mist Scallop Circle that has white gel pen dots on each scallop, then attached with adhesive to the card front.

It's a pretty card, I will have to use the Color Coach more often.

Mia's Creation

My 6 year old grand daughter, Mia, was visiting with us and she wanted to make a birthday card for her Dad, who's birthday was coming up soon. She loves to play in my craft room.
She chose the colors and then she punched out circles in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" sizes of each color ( Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz).
She then had a great time gluing them all on to the card front ( Poppy Parade) that she chose as well. She looked at all the SU embossing folders and decided that the perfect polka dots folder went best with the circles.
We ran this through the Big Shot and glued it onto a Whisper White card base. The sentiment is from Word Play it was stamped on Whisper White then punched out with a circle punch and matted with a Pear Pizzazz Decorative Label punch. We also added a Peach Parfait Twill Ribbon to the top to complete the card.

I think she did a wonderful job! Don't you?

Valentines Card Class

I did the dry run today for my Valentine Cards Class. My daughter-in-law, Jess, came with my 6 yr old grand daughter and 3 teenagers and we made these cards that we will make in my classes being held the next 2 Monday nights. There will be 7 tomorrow and 5 next week. The class went well and we finished in the allotted time so I guess that is a good thing.

I did learn, though, that a 6 yr old is not patient enough to do a class with this many people, or this many projects.

Next we filled them with....what else but... Hugs and Kisses from Hersheys.

Masculine Birthday Cards

These cards are totally cased but I don't know who the original posted are so if you are out there give me a shout and I'll be happy to give credit where credit is due.
This first one I made for my brother-in-law who restores classic muscle cars, now that he is retired he does it full time.
I felt it was appropriate for him. I used Crumb Cake card base with a large rectangle cut from the front of the card. The center is held in place by the many cog gears that are scattered around. I used 3 screw head brads from my stash to embellish the sentiment. The cogs are cut using the 2 step cog punch in Crumb Cake and Brushed Silver, the cogs were sponged around the edges.

This card is for another brother-in-law he's a no fuss kind of guy, likes things clean and simple so I thought this card was appropriate for him........
Again a Crumb Cake base with one inch squares of Early Espresso and 3/4 inch squares of Not Quite Navy. The brads are from the Metallic Collection, Antique Brass, I think. The squares are popped up on dimentionals and the sentiment is stamped below. I rounded off the bottom corners too.

This one is less formal, I used the Lap of Luxury DSP for all parts of this. Punched a border with the Scallop Trim border punch, used the Flower Trio again with some Basic Jewel Rhinestone centers.

I think these would make cute gifts for someone who has everything!

Calendar Post-its

These were quick gifts I made for everyone at Christmas and I will be doing a few more too. Very easy to do using acrylic picture frames, DSP and some ribbon.

I used Greenhouse Gala DSP for these along with the Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz ribbons

The DSP for this one is from the Autumn Spice DSP pk that was in the Holiday Mini catalogue.

I attached a small calendar and a post it note pad to each frame with some sticky strip

Using an RSVP pen I inserted some co-ordinating DSP into the pen

This makes a quick and usable gift.

The last of Christmas projects.....

Hi everyone! I've had a crazy busy week...catching up after the holiday I guess. So here are the last of my Christmas projects and then we can move on to other things.

These are gift card/ticket holders that I had to create to accommodate tickets to a theatre show I had purchased for gifts.The conventional gift card holders didn't work; they weren't long enough.

They could be created for any occasion; just switch out the paper and stamps for the appropriate occasion.

The DSP for this one, Deck the Halls, is now retires from the Holiday mini It was one of my favorites.

I used the Chocolate Chip 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Basic Jewels Pearls to accent this one. I loved the look of it.

The inside uses the Decorative label punch and Crumb Cake card stock backed with a Cherry Cobbler Decorative Label Punch.

This is a tag I made to go on a hostess/thank you gift for my sister-in-law, Lorraine. She had us all (12) for Christmas dinner on Boxing Day; this is when my husband's family has always celebrated the holiday leaving Christmas day for family things etc.

Lorraine dubbed herself "Rainedeer" along time ago so this tag seemed to fit the bill. It's made with punches entirely except for the tag itself which is from the Sizzix Bigz Two Tags die. I cased the basic figure from Kelly Mayou's blog:

These next 2 are very simple using the Northern Flurry embossing folder, the greeting from Peaceful Season and a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels. This one is in Tempting Turquoise

This one is in Real Red and for the envelopes I used the trio of snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes

This cutie is on a Crumb Cake card base and it uses 1/2 of a Top Note Diecut in both Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. A snowflake punched from Whisper White and a Basic Black Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border

I don't know who created the original of this but he is so cute! The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages.

I love this stamp, but I'm not really happy with this particular card. I will have to play with this one some more.

A beautiful card that I am thrilled with; so elegant!

This one uses Peaceful Season sentiment, Bells and Boughs holly stamp that I colored with Stampin'Write markers, the piercing tool and mat pack as well as the basic jewel half pearls and the Tasteful Trim BigZ XL die for the Big Shot.

More Christmas Cards (cased again)

I'm posting again today as I feel I have gotten way behind and I'm sure you are all getting tired of Christmas by now.

These next 3 cards are cased from Darlene McCallum a fellow Canadian Demo.

I changed this one up just a bit as I didn't have the stamp set she used. I used an image from the set; A Flower for all Seasons.I colored it with my Stampin'Write markers.

Paper used is again Jolly Holiday

The stamp sets are Bright Christmas, Many Merry Messages, Tags til Christmas and Word Play

Accessories used were Big Designer Buttons, Northern Frost Decorative Strip for the Big Shot, Glimmer Brads and 5/8" Satin Ribbon.

I sprayed the snowflake with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and alcohol mix for a bit of shimmer
.
These too worked up quickly and are very pretty in real life

I followed LeeAnn's directions fairly close but I did change it up a bit in places

You only use 1/2 a package of the rub-ons and less than 1/2 pkg of the DSP.

Add some co-ordinating cardstock ......

Here I added a few snowflakes stamped in a tone-on-tone .......

Voila! Beautiful quick cards for the holiday.

Non-Traditional Bells and Boughs

These two cards are cased from a fellow demo but I don't remember who so if you recognize this please speak up and I'll be glad to give you credit.

I stamped the image in black Stazon and used my blender pens to apply the ink to the flowers, direct marker to paper for the boughs. Ink colors are Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. The centers were dotted with little dabs of Smooch Pearlized Accent ink in Gold. The ribbon is Whisper White 5/8" Satin and the sentiment comes from Four The Holidays

The colors in this card are Blushing Bride ans Always Artichoke done the same way the turquoise one was done/ I like these in the Non-Traditional Colors.

These are 5 1/4" square cards.

The inside of the cards are a sentiment from Many Merry Messages that was over-stamped with the poinsettia stamp after having stamped off in the principal colors.

This was my version of the sketch. Again... very simple but effective. I made it with my niece, Stephanie in mind; she will celebrate her first Christmas this year as a mother with her darling little Lily.

This is the inside of the card: The greeting is from Many Merry messages, stamped in Cherry Cobbler then it is over-stamped with the wreath from Welcome Christmas that has been inked with Always Artichoke and stamped off once.

I decided to do the same card in Always Artichoke, I like this version too! The bow on this one is a triple bow too and I secured it with mini glue dots and like it better than the wonky bow on the red one.

Cased Snowflakes

This card was cased from Andrea Walford; I love the simplicity of it. I needed something that fit the season but was more masculine and this seemed to fit the bill.

This is the inside of the card I used the 3 snowflake stamp from Serene Snowflakes set and stamped with the Night of Navy 3 times before re-inking.

I did the same thing with the snowflake stamp on the envelope.

The sentiment comes from Many Merry Messagaes.

I created an alternate color combo using Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake. The Always Artichoke Seam binding replaces the 5/8" ribbon. I like the effect I got with this too.

Peaceful Season

I love this set!!

This card was cased from Dawn Olchefske, a fellow Demo.

The holly was inked up with Always Artichoke Ink. I then removed the ink from the berries with a blender pen and colored them with Cherry Cobbler. This was stamped and stamped again to get the double stamped effect.

Next I inked up the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped on the front of the card. There is a small Basic Rhinestone dotting the "I" in greetings.
The botom of the card was punched with the Pinking Hearts border punch and a strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock was placed under this to make it stand out against the Always Artichoke card base. Always Artichoke seam binding is tied on the front for an embellishment.

The inside of the card has a white copy paper Top note die cut to make the verse from Many Merry Messages more visible. I inked up the holly image again as I did for the front of the card and stamped off before stamping onto the Top note die cut. I repeated the stamped off image on the envelope to tie everything together.

Christmas Gift Certificate Holder

I created this gift Certificate holder for someone who was really having a difficult time finding something to put a gift certificate in. It was a Christmas gift and it was purchased as so but the company who sold this put it in a business letter sized standard white envelope; she wanted to put it into something more festive.

To get the dimensions of the cards stock that I needed ( I used Crumb Cake), I measured the length of the envelope and added an inch so there was a 1/2" flap on either side. Next I measured the height, doubled this for the flap and added an inch to fold up on the bottom. These two measurements gave me the length and width of the card stock that I would need. ( My envelope measured 9 1/2" long by 4 1/4" high so my cardstock measured 10 1/2" long by 9 1/2" high. Next I scored the 10 1/2" side at 1/2" and 10" and the 91/2" side at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". I folded the scorelines and trimmed off the excess 41/4" x 1/2" on either side of the front flap and the small 1" x1/2" pieces on the bottom flap leaving only a 1/2 " x 41/4 " piece on either side of the center panel. I trimmed a small triangular sliver on either end of these 1/2" flaps to facilitate the folds and closure. Next I cut a piece of Deck The Halls DSP 1/4" smaller than the cardstock, (9 1/4" x 10 1/4") and I rounded the corners of the ends of the cardstock and the DSP. I glued the DSP to the cardstock before folding and gluing the bottom flap to create the envelope holder. This seemed to work well and was easier to adhere this way. The envelope is created!

Now to embellish it...... I created a belly band with one of the strips that I had trimmed off of my 12 x 12 Cardstock and I used the scallop trim border punch on either side of this. I cut another piece of DSP from the Deck the Halls paper pack and adhered it to the belly band.

I cut some snowflakes from the Northern Frost Decorative strip in Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake cardstock and layered them with Glimmer brads on the belly band and the front and back of this envelope.

I used Tombo Mulit Liquid Adhesive for this project, I have come to love this adhesive, it has some wiggle time when adhering two pieces of paper and it will never come apart. You have to respect it though and be very sparing with its use.

Here are some of the snowflakes on the back as well.
The last thing I did with this was to spray it with the alcohol and Shimmer Paint mix. I love the sparkle you get from this and I don't find it falling off my projects, it stays put.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Scrapbook in a box

I created this piece way back in September when the new Mini first came out and put it aside to post at a later date......I guess this is now!

No stamping here but I have used Stampin' Up Products to create this cute 3"x 3" cube that when opened can be a scrapbook for this Christmas. A tag with the year can be attached to the top of this to correspond to the year that the pictures were taken. I can see several of these as the years go on being displayed at Christmas time so that everyone can reminisce about the festivities from that particular year.

I've used a 9"x9" piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock as the base, this was scored at 3 and 6 inches on two sides; creating 9 3"x 3" squares. I then cut up to the center square on the same line on each side to create the sides of the box. I used the Deck the Halls DSP and cut 2 3/4" squares to line each square of the inside of the box and the 4 squares that are showing on the outside of the box.

The box with the cover off. Starting to open. The top of the box was created by taking a 7 1/8" square of Crumb Cake cardstock and scoring it at 1" and 2" on all four sides. I then cut and folded as per this tutorial.....

I like the double fold on the sides as it makes the top and the box so much more sturdy.

The top of the box was embellished with a 2 3/4" square of DSP and the sides are 3/4" x 2 3/4".

I wanted Holly for the top of this box so it was created by punching out a wide oval in Always Artichoke and then I folded length wise in two. I sponged the center fold with Always Artichoke ink and then before opening the fold I used the 3/4" and 1/2" circle punches to create the holly leaves. Once opened I sponged the edges with Craft Whisper White ink and used my bone folder to soften the fibers of the card stock so that they would be a bit pliable and easier to shape. I glued these on with Mini Glue dots shaping them to look 3D. The Holly Berries are 1/4"paper punch Cherry Cobbler circles that I rounded with the end of my paper piercer, to give them a 3D look. I added a dot with the white gel pen.

The sparkle that you see is Champagne Shimmer Paint mixed with Alcohol in a mister and sprayed directly onto the Holly.

I love the shimmer/sparkle! I hope you enjoyed this project, I will be posting more Christmas things as the big day gets closer. I am a procrastinator if you haven't already guessed so I have not got many things created ahead but I have lots of ideas that I hope will come to reality.

Gift Card holder for a new home

Royal Blog Hop Purse Components (part 4)

This post it note holder is created with light weight coasters or chipboard. I used the following video as a basis for creating this project.

Products are the same as the rest of the purse items. I like this particular Post-it note holder because it has a hard cover and it will hold up better in a purse than some of the others will.

Now this item is made with the candy wrapper die but I only cut out the body and one end of the die cut then cut out the body and the other end of the die cut, I used s strip of DSP in the center to make it long enough to hold/package the hand cream. It was fairly straight forward from there. Again the supplies are the same as in the previous items for the purse.

This last item from the projects on the ROyal Blog Tour is the Simply Adorned 1 1/2 x 2 inch pendant. I stamped the image from the Silhouette Sentiments Stamp Set onto Very Vanilla.The stamp was colored with Stampin'Write markers in Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade. Then applied some Basic Jewels Pearls to the flower centers and a few on the right hand side that have been colored with Pear Pizzazz marker as well. The whole image is mounted onto a piece of Poppy Parade card stock and then placed in the pendant.

Royal Blog Hop Purse Components (part 3)

First up today is the gum holder/cover. I took a regular pkg of gum, Excel I think this one was and pulled the gum from the wrapper, I then cut it into two pieces to make this a more purse-sized item. Next I used a piece of Concord Crush card stock that was 1/4 inch wider than the gum and long enough to wrap around the gum wit a small overage for gluing. I scored mine for the sides to ensure a crisper look. The embellishment is the small scallop rectangle from the Scallop Square Duo Bigz die cut out in Blushing Bride and a small piece of the Lap of Luxury DSP upon which I stamped the bird from the Silhouette Sentiments stamp set in Early Esspresso. I added some bling with the Basic Jewels Rhinestones ( I see one had wandered in the picture, it has been righted now) This is really just a sleeve that the gum slides in and out of . It can be made large or smaller to fit whatever gum or treat you want to embellish.

I used the same products as the previous items and followed these videos. I think it is pretty self explanitory.

Tooth fairy tin

I have been negligent with posts again, I am so sorry! My only excuse is being too busy, work has been very busy and I did something to my back last week that sort of had me and my heating pad being best friends for several days. It's much better now and I am catching up slowly.

This is a cute tooth fairy tin I made for my grand daughter, Mia. She turned six on the 2nd of this month and has had a loose tooth since September. She is very excited to be able to use it, soon she hopes.

As you can see it is not very large. I used an empty hand cream tin that I had saved. Punched out a large 2 3/8" scalloped circle(this should soon be available again) in PearPizzazz and glued it to the top.The scallops folded down onto the sides to cover them perfectly as well. Next I stamped the Tooth Fairy image twice; once onto Blushing Bride and the second time onto Whisper White.
Next I used the 13/4" circle punch to punch out the Blushing Bride image.

I used my Stampin'Write markers to color in the Whisper White image. The sheen comes from a light smear of Frost White Shimmer Paint to give her a glow. I punched this out with the 13/8" circle punch and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish it off I tied and glued, with Tombo Multipurpose Liquid glue, a Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon. On the inside I placed a small piece of batting to keep the treasure from damage and to minimize the noise.
I'm told it is currently under her pillow waiting fot the day/night she can use it.

Masculine Card

For this card I used Crumb Cake classic ink and Brayered it on the folder; I then placed my Very Vanilla cardstock into the folder and ran it through the Big Shot.

The card base is Early Espresso as is the ink that the image is stamped in.

The bottom of the card front is Crumb Cake that has been stamped with one of the images from the Silhouette Sentiments with Crumb Cake Classic ink.

I punched the image out with the scallop oval punch and framed it on an Earl Espresso Decorative Label punch.

The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in Early Espresso as well.

The Ribbon is the 1/8th inch Early Espresso Taffeta.

RBT....Note Card Set

This 3x5 note card set is a really simple set to make and it would make a lovely gift for someone special. It holds 6 note cards and envelopes.

The box was created from 2 pieces of 8.5" x 7.75" Poppy Parade, see the template below for scoring and cutting guidelines, if you click on the template it will enlarge so the dimensions are easier to read.

I used the wide oval punch to create the handles, the DSP for the front of the box is from the In-Color DSP stack and the Poppy Parade Twill Ribbon

One of these is the front and one is the back just glue them together with one inside the other to create the box/holder.

I took this picture to show how I colored the Pearls to match the colors of the Cards.

The cards were created using Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Peach Parfait.The fronts were Whisper White that had been run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder. To get the blank space in the center of the mat I used the technique as seen on this post over at Patty Bennett's Blog:

I took a 3x5 piece of the cardboard that is found in our DSP packs and found the center of it.I then punched out a wide oval from the center. I did this 3 times on 3 different pieces of cardboard and then layered them one on top of the other. Next I place it on the back of the Square Lattice embossing folder and then placed my Whisper White cardstock inside the folder centered over the cardboard shim with the wide oval cut out and rolled it through my Bigshot. This then embosses only where there is pressure and not where there is no pressure.

The inside of the notes were decorated with the inside oval from the Scalloped Oval Frame cut from copy paper and stamped with the same image as the front of the card.

Envelopes were stamped with the images as well so every thing co-ordinates.

More pearl acents.
